Currently responsible for leading the Oncology Strategic Business Unit, Roger has been with BTG, the global technology development and commercialisation company, since 1989. He is responsible for a UK/US based team that identifies, develops and out-licenses new drugs for cancer treatment and supportive care. This group is building a portfolio of innovative therapeutics in clinical and pre-clinical development stages.
Previously, Roger managed the global life-science licensing team and had substantial experience in commercialising many of BTG’s oncology and biotechnology products, including the recently marketed Campath (which is approved in treatment for CLL, and is in Phase II trial for treatment of multiple sclerosis). Other out-licensed oncology and biotechnology products currently in development with third parties include the hypoxic cell cytotoxin AQ4N, the colorectal cancer drug XLS 002, and the humanised anti-CD3 antibody TRX 004.
Prior to joining BTG, Roger spent ten years at Amersham International in research management positions in the UK and US, latterly leading a multidisciplinary research group developing antibody-based agents for targeting cancer and vascular disease.
Roger has degrees in Chemistry and is an active member of the Licensing Executive Society and the Pharmaceutical Licensing Group.
