Rosemary Boyle

Since May 2002 Rosemary Boyle has been a solicitor in the University of Cambridge's Legal Services Office. The Office's original remit concentrated on supporting the University's research collaboration and technology transfer groups. Since March 2005, the remit officially has been broadened to provide advice throughout the University. Highlights include working with colleagues on difficult aspects of licensing and collaboration deals, developing precedents (for example a model patent and know-how licence, to be made available by PRAXIS) and advising on complex procurement. Previously Rosemary worked in private practice and subsequently for 20 years as an in-house local government lawyer, where she advised on commercial contracts, particularly for information technology and privatisations. She spends the rest of her week project managing 4 children, except when she can escape for a quick swim or run to keep sane.
