Peter Hotten

Peter Hotten joined Oxford Gene Technology (OGT) in 1998 as a non-executive director and in 2002 became an executive director with special responsibility for licensing & business development for the OGT group of companies. With OGT Peter has successfully negotiated several agreements relating to fundamental IP in DNA microarray technology. Most of the agreements were forms of licenses that have resulted in several million dollars of revenue; other agreements include litigation settlements. Prior to OGT Peter obtained a degree in Chemistry & Microbiology and a PhD in Microbial Enzymology. After a single commercially orientated post-doc position Peter switched from academia to commerce and has held managerial and director level positions in a number of SME’s as well as a period with Oxford University’s technology transfer company – Isis Innovation Ltd.
