Peter McConville
Peter is currently Vice President of Nutritionals R&D, part of GSK Consumer Healthcare.
Peter is responsible for the R&D activities supporting key Nutritionals brands like Lucozade, including Lucozade Sport and the Lucozade Sports Science Acadamy, Ribena and Horlicks which have global sales of more the £650 million. He leads a team of over 60 scientists, technologists and engineers with varying responsibilities to maintain current business and both imagine and deliver future business.
Peter, like many in the industry today, recognises the value of a strong external network and the importance of building robust relationships to enable leading edge science and technology to be delivered as desirable and affordable products to the consumer.
Peter has over 20 years experience in technical roles, primarily in R&D and has worked on a whole spectrum of products including OTC medicines, Cosmetics and Foods. In his previous GSK role he led the Global New Product Development Departments for Consumer Healthcare with teams in US, UK and Germany. One of Peter's achievements in a long GSK career was the setting up and establishment of an R&D project management group.
Peter's early career was in the food industry in Ireland and he has a B.Sc. in Industrial Microbiology from University College Dublin and a Masters in Manufacturing Engineering from Trinity College Dublin.
