Kendra Gittus
Graduated from Reading University with a BSc(Hons) Food Technology. After graduation she joined Sainsbury Supermarkets Limited as a Food Technologist, responsible for ensuring the safety, quality and legality of a variety of own label products.
Kendra joined Zeneca Plant Science in 1994 as a Business Development Manager in the field of genetically modified tomatoes. She worked closely with colleagues in R&D, regulatory affairs and in collaboration with food chain and academic partners to launch the first GM whole food in the UK in 1996.
Following the formation of Syngenta, she was employed as a business analyst to identify new opportunity areas for Syngenta. In 2002, she led market research analysis of banana projects and currently a banana business manager, working towards the launch of a GM banana in the US in 2006/7.
