Justine has worked for ICT Centres for Excellence in both public and private sector organisations, an international telecoms company, NGOs and public organisations plus has been an intern in the Business Programme at Forum for the Future. During this time, she developed a personal interest in knowledge transfer, the use of ICT for social benefit and influencing change within business.
For the past year, Justine has been a Business Development Manager at InfoLab21, Lancaster University's new ICT and Knowledge Business Centre. She has been responsible for identifying local business development needs then matching them to academic skills within the University with the aim of creating mutually beneficial projects, identifying funding sources, solving current and future technical problems, consultancy and graduate placement/recruitment etc. In addition she has worked closely with 10 incubation companies to find commercial opportunities including Intellectual Property via licensing, joint ventures and collaborative R&D.
Her earlier experience includes working for six years for Cable & Wireless Global. She held product management and business development roles (in the UK, Europe and internationally) culminating in specialist role developing business opportunities within dedicated, multi-disciplinary Centre of Excellence. All her roles focussed on how to manage and deliver a telecommunications service to the customer end-to-end both technically, operationally and commercially.
