Dominique Kleyn

Dominique has been responsible for various company making, technology management and commercialisation activities since joining Imperial in 1999 and now heads up the BioPharma business development activity. Current projects include collaborative research to identify new targets for cancer and syndicated research using a systems approach into biomarkers of disease. A key aspect of her work is to lead Imperial's response to collaborative opportunities and help investigators find suitable research partners in the BioPharma sector. Before coming to Imperial, Dominique worked in product development and marketing, then business development and licensing in industry. She has wide ranging experience in the sector covering diagnostics, medical devices and drug development and has successfully negotiated major contracts for Wellcome Foundation, Murex Biotech and Imperial spin-outs. She is a member of the Institute of Directors and the Licensing Executives Society, has a degree in Microbiology and is due to complete her studies for an MBA from Imperial later this year. Outside work, her hobbies include theatre and sport and she is often to be found on a Saturday morning during winter months on the hockey field with a whistle in her hand.
