Colin Wall

Colin Wall began his career as a Biochemist before becoming a Forensic Scientist at the Metropolitan Police Forensic Science Laboratories in London. Here he obtained his PhD in Analytical Forensic Chemistry from Imperial College and was awarded the Chemical Society Prize for his work.

He then moved to Blue Circle Industries, where he was Head of both Cement Chemistry and Cement Physics, before being appointed Divisional General Manager. He travelled extensively with the Company including the Far East and the USA, and it was during this period that he studied creativity, individual and team competence, and management behaviour.

In 1983 he left Blue Circle to work in Venture Capital and it was as a result of his experiences with young high growth technology led businesses that he decided to enter Executive Search in 1986. He founded his own Company, Copley Wall and Associates in January 1991.

He has more than 36 years of commercial experience and has worked in a wide variety of industries, both technical and non-technical. His special passion is the deep understanding of commercial issues in business and the utilisation of the appropriate Human Resource processes to solve them.

He is a Chairman of Copley Wall and Associates and Silver Heron Development Ltd, and a senior non-executive Director of Torex plc.
