Alan Price
Alan Price has had a varied career. Until 1990 it was almost entirely focussed in and around the semiconductor industry. He worked at Texas Instruments for 15 years to 1984 where he rose to be the Division Manager of a European Division turning over $40M. He left to join Plessey where he was Managing Director of their emerging Three- Five Semiconductor business producing circuits and products aimed at satellite broadcasting and high speed telecommunications. The latter being what gives us the high speed internet connections we enjoy today. Since 1990 he has held various director level positions in smaller businesses where he was employed to turn them round or sell them.
Currently he is self employed and working with Lancaster University and others to ensure their Business Support activities are known and utilised in Cumbria.
His leisure activities include gentle hill walking and some off road cycling.
