Amanda is experienced in all aspects of business management, including AIM flotation and early stage technology development. Her industry background covers chemicals, pharmaceuticals, biotech, agro-chemicals, household consumer goods, food, brewing and power and water. She has a specialisation in business development and marketing, but has also directly managed exports sales, complicated logistics and change management projects.
After graduating in Management Science from the University of Warwick, she worked for 12 years within ICI in variety of commercial positions and businesses. She then joined Micap plc, the bioscience company that licenses yeast micro-encapsulation technology, and was instrumental in delivering the business development activities necessary to provide the platform for their successful AIM flotation during the summer of 2003. As part of her role at Micap plc, she opened up applications and commercial opportunities in drug delivery, skin care, wound care, and targeted biocides.
She set up Burgundy Gold Ltd to provide business development services for technology based companies. Clients range from SME’s to blue chip companies, Universities and other research intensive organisations. The business helps with all aspects of commercialisation, from determining the market potential, to finding development partners and funding. Services are generally provided on a project basis with a particular emphasis on hands support and practical commercial resources.
Amanda has recently co-founded ACAL Energy Ltd, a start up company set up to develop a unique fuel cell technology, and successfully secured significant seed corn/ early stage venture capital investment.
