Valerie Jolliffe
Valerie is a co-founder and chief executive of Javelin Ventures, which manages the Iceni Seedcorn Fund, the University Challenge Fund for the Universities of East Anglia and Essex and the Norwich Research Park Institutes. She also manages the Heptagon proof of concept fund, which provides pre-commercial funding for its eight partners in London and the south-east, and the Innovation China UK (ICUK) development fund. Valerie sits on the advisory boards of NHS Innovations’ Xpedite proof of concept fund and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust Innovation Fund. She is also a non-executive director of a number of spin-out companies.
Prior to moving into early stage investing, Valerie spent ten years in the city specialising in corporate finance for smaller companies. She has a degree in engineering from Cambridge and is a Chartered Secretary.
