Dr. Richard Curry is an independent consultant specialising in the application of advanced technologies to healthcare.
He is currently Senior Scientific Advisor to the Department of Health’s Invention for Innovation programme and to the Department of Health’s Policy Research Programme research initiative on the role of technology in supporting chronic disease management, self care and healthy living.
In his other consultancy activities he has worked with a number of NHS Trusts, district councils and charities helping them to implement technology adoption programmes. He is also a member of the Healthcare Management Group at Tanaka Business School, Imperial College London with an interest in the adoption of technology.
Prior to working as a consultant he held senior management positions in the scientific instrument sector for over 20 years most recently with a videoconferencing company where he designed and installed the minimally invasive therapy training system based at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.
He holds a PhD in physics from the University of Durham.
