Nick Gostick

Nick is an experienced environmental biotechnologist, and also has extensive business development experience. Nick completed a PhD in Biotechnology at Cranfield Institute of Technology. His area of research was biological wastewater treatment.

He then joined OMEX Environmental as Technical Manager before leaving in 1993 to set up Scientific Solutions Ltd. This successful environmental biotechnology company was eventually sold to Norsk Hydro and he then joined the University of Sheffield as the Sheffield end of the White Rose Biotechnology Consortium, one of the first of the biotechnology exploitation platforms.

During his time at Sheffield University he helped to set up a series of spin-out companies including Celltran Ltd. Adjuvantix Ltd. Plasso Ltd. SupaPlants Ltd, SEAMS Ltd. ECUS Ltd and Aqua Enviro Ltd. He also served as the university representative on the boards of a number of these companies.

In 2004 Nick joined BioCity Nottingham Ltd. As Incubation Manager, Nick’s role is to support BioCity’s early stage healthcare technology businesses, speed the development and improve the quality of new companies emerging in the region through the BioCity Germinator initiative, and to help create a dynamic and exciting environment at BioCity with a robust commercial focus and rich networking opportunities.
