Nick is a partner in the commercial practice of international law firm Eversheds. Since qualifying as a lawyer in 1989 he has specialised in advising on and negotiating commercial and technology contracts. He has been a partner of Eversheds since 1998.
His clients, both from the private and public sector, include plcs, banks, government agencies and universities. He acts for both procurers and suppliers of IT and other services and systems. He advises on a wide range of commercial contracts and his work includes advising on outsourcing, procurement and supply contracts, consultancy arrangements, IT system development, e-commerce, database supply and management arrangements and data protection.
He has a particular specialism in the education sector and over the years has advised a number of universities, HE and FE institutions and governmental agencies operating in the sector. That includes assisting universities with their commercial activities.
His experience includes: acting for NatWest bank on the ground breaking outsourcing of all its telecommunications requirements to BT; advising the Driving Standards Agency on a major system development agreement with Capita to handle the booking on the practical driving test; and acting for the National College for School Leadership (an agency of the Department for Children, Schools and Families) on a variety of major commissioning, outsourcing and IT contracts.
