Mike Shaw
Mike has worked in fmcg for over twenty years, and previously for The Boots Company and SmithKline Beecham (SB). Mike set up the European SB Consumer Healthcare (CH) Technology Licensing function in 1996, including a world wide data base to track the status of projects and alliances. He worked closely with the SBCH Therapeutic Category Management Teams, to establish an active licensing portfolio, and with various SBPharma and SBVaccines teams, especially on Rx to OTC Switch Teams. Mike joined Unilever in 2001 as Director of Licensing to head Home & Personal Care, Technology Licensing & Alliance Management. As well as the day to day role of licensing, Mike has been actively involved with change management of Open Innovation (OI) in HPC, leading a Process Harmonisation initiative, to help clarify the roles and responsibilities of the various OI teams in Port Sunlight, to facilitate a more efficient and effective process for engaging with the external world.
