Mike Boxall
Mike Boxall has been a senior management consultant for nearly twenty years, initially with Touche Ross (now Deloitte's) and for the past ten years with PA Consulting Group. Before that, he worked for some years as a policy adviser in the then-Department of Trade & Industry. He leads PA's consulting work in the education and skills sector, with a particular focus on higher education.
He has extensive experience of consulting across the whole public sector, in the UK and overseas, working at every level from advising Ministers on policy directions to implementing operational changes in colleges. His specialisms are the development and implementation of strategic changes, for example working with the Student Loans Company to reform the student support system and working with HEFCE to simplify accountability arrangements across the HE sector.
He has also worked with a number of universities to review and redirect their institutional strategies, and has published extensively on aspects of strategic management in HE. Alongside his client consulting experience, Mike's work also embraces business development, practice management and team building within his firm.
