Chris Shelley
Chris is head of the Technology and Media Department of the Thames Valley offices of Manches LLP, based in Oxford. Chris studied law at the Universities of Sussex and Strasbourg before joining City lawyers S J Berwin as one of their first trainees. He qualified there in 1986 and spent a further three and a half years there in the Commercial Department before joining Manches, where he became a partner in 1992.
Chris has over 20 years' experience advising on intellectual property and EC and UK competition laws, in particular as they apply to the technology transfer process. His clients include both universities and research councils on the one hand and spin-out companies on the other. He has a particular interest in the application of competition and EU free movement laws to the exploitation of intellectual property rights.
Chris is a member of The Intellectual Property Lawyers Organisation, the Licensing Executives Society and the Solicitors European Group.
