Carolyn McKee

Carolyn McKee has worked as an in-house solicitor with Oxford University since 1999. Her primary client is the University's Research Services office, now including more than 40 members of staff, where she works with contracts officers and managers providing specialist contracts and intellectual property advice on a wide range of matters, including collaborations with industry and other institutions, commercial sponsorship agreements, clinical trial agreements, framework agreements. Her role originally encompassed advice to the University's technology transfer company where she gained experience in spinning out University companies and licensing University intellectual property to commercial partners until it became clear that the requirement for legal advice justified another post (now another 2). She is also responsible for copyright advice to the University in general and, in her spare time, advises the University's Purchasing Office, subsidiary companies and departments on general commercial and intellectual property matters. She has two children, aged 3 and 1 and is taking an Open College of the Arts course in Sculpture.
